Braving The Storm

I think it's safe to say that when you take a few days off work, you wish with all your might that Mother Nature brings some good weather.

Apparently, she didn't hear me... For most of this week it has been super windy up at the north Antrim coast with cloud as far as the eye can see. But, I was determined to come away with at least one more shot.

To avoid some of the wind I decided to head for Kinbane Head in hope that the surrounding cliffs would offer some form of shelter from the gales. As luck would have it, there was just enough to capture a long exposure of one of my favourite compositions at this location. Don't be surprised if you see me returning here in a few weeks for another shot...

Next came sunset. With so much cloud around the chance of something vibrant was out the window. But that doesn't mean you can't capture something epic! While driving along the coast I couldn't help but notice gorgeous crepuscular rays casting their warm light across the surrounding landscape. Cue the hasty rush to get parked up and my gear out of my bag!

It just goes to show that even in the bleakest of settings, there's still a shot to be had!
