A Dry Spell: The Mournes Edition

As you may recall from my last blog post, I have been battling with low lying cloud on my recent trips to the north Antrim coast. So I decided to change tactics and headed for somewhere that oozes epic light - the Mourne Mountains.

As it would turn out, however, even the Mournes couldn't completely kill my dry spell. My plan was to grab a panorama of Hen mountain from its bigger brother, Cock mountain; with the aim of capturing shafts of warm light hitting Hen and the surrounding fields.

Unfortunately there was a bit too much cloud on the horizon which meant the final 15-30mins of sunlight were hidden (which is typically when the light is at its best). Thankfully I was still able to get a similar shot to what I had imagined, but it would have been so much better had the sun been lower in the sky and able to shine through breaks in the cloud.

Regardless, it was a lovely evening to be out with the camera and I still came home with a shot. Here's hoping this is the end of my dry spell!
