Sunset In The Mournes

As many of you know St Patrick's Day brought some spectacular weather. Unfortunately, I was in work so while many of you were out enjoying the sun and maybe even taking a few pictures I had to watch on through an office window.

Eager to make up for lost time, however, I headed out with my camera Sunday afternoon when the weather wasn't half bad either. This time my travels took me to Slieve Bearnagh, a peak I've seen and heard great things about but never explored for myself. The plan was to head for sunset and hopefully capture something great. Unfortunately there was a layer of misty cloud obscuring the horizon so I can only imagine how good the sunset would have been, had it not been there.

Nevertheless, it was amazing to see just how dramatically different the light can be if you sit around and enjoy it. I look forward to climbing this peak and many others in the near future, and am glad to say I finally experienced my first Mourne sunset.

Cue the epic selfie.
