The Hiatus

It's been a long time since I've been out and about with my camera - a bit too long for my liking. Mostly this has been because of the weather being miserable, but I also spent a week skiing in France with the most amazing group of people which meant I was away from my camera for a bit of time as well.

Normality has began to settle in, however, and last weekend I decided to go for a walk with my camera. It began with a trip to Slieve Croob and Legananny Dolmen in County Down to see if they'd be worthy locations for future endeavors. Despite being fairly unimpressed by both locations I did notice that there was a nice gathering of snow over on the Mourne Mountains, so I headed to Murlough Bay to catch the sunset.

This sunset was an interesting one. Initially, when the sun dipped behind the Mournes there wasn't anything particularly special to see. Those who waited around for a while longer, however, were treated to the most epic of conditions. Out of nowhere snow clouds consumed the surrounding area, and in the distance over the Mournes warm rays illuminated the misty clouds giving the most amazing colour and atmosphere.

All in all, it was worth the cold day out.
